Sometimes our patients come great distances to receive care at Saint Mary's. That's why we recommend guest housing available to visiting families.

Sophia's House

Sophia's House, the newly renovated guest house designed to serve the needs of patients and their families while they receive treatment at Saint Mary's Health Care, opened June 4, 2012.

Named in honor of lead donor Peter M. Wege's mother, Sophia Louise Wege, the $3.5-million Sophia's House is a three-story home with comfortable accommodations and multiple furnished rooms that allows guests to be near their loved ones receiving care at the hospital.

American Cancer Society Hope Lodge

Offering lodging and transportation to and from Grand Rapids cancer treatment centers free of charge, the Hope Lodge is a home-away-from-home for adult cancer patients and their caregivers who must travel to Grand Rapids for treatment.

Saint Mary's Health Care is pleased to partner with Hope Lodge in offering this service to our cancer patients and their caregiver.

Ronald McDonald House

Located about 10 minutes by car from our downtown campus, the Western Michigan Ronald McDonald House is a home away from home for families of young patients who don't live in the Grand Rapids area. Each room will sleep four to five people and costs $6 per night, regardless of the number of guests.

Since Saint Mary's Health Care is a member of Trinity Health, discounted hotel rates are available to our patients and their families when receiving care. When making a reservation at participating hotels in Grand Rapids, you simply need to say that you are "with Trinity Health." No further information should be needed.
