We've blended ourselves into the very fabric of this area, and as our community ties grew, our commitment to you grew even stronger. With every expansion, addition and partnership, our goal remained the same: to help you live the healthiest life possible.

We work hard to stay at the forefront of medicine, giving you access to the very best care available. The Lacks Cancer Center is West Michigan's only dedicated cancer center. Our oncologists have exceptional qualifications and are accomplished in a wide variety of sub-specialties. For example, Dr. Kevin Brader is a world leader in robotic gynecologic oncology surgery. Our nationally accredited Comprehensive Breast Center at The Lacks Cancer Center offers complete breast care in one location powered by a multidisciplinary team, including West Michigan’s only fellowship trained breast surgeons — Dr. Jamie Caughran and Dr. Jessica Keto.

With The Hauenstein Neuroscience Center, we have been able to offer nationally recognized neurological services under one roof. That means our patients have access to the entire continuum of care — from education and prevention to surgical and rehab options ­­–– in one state-of-the-art location. We were the first hospital in Michigan to treat epilepsy, and now, we offer a surgery using innovative technology that can eliminate epileptic seizures completely, allowing our patients an enhanced quality of life. In 2012, we are proud to welcome Dr. Philip B. Gorelick as our new medical director of The Hauenstein Neuroscience Center. Dr. Gorelick is an internationally known expert in stroke and stroke prevention.

Our weight-loss center has been designated a national Bariatric Surgery Center of Excellence, and our lead surgeon, Dr. Paul Kemmeter, is one of only 50 U.S. doctors experienced in the most effective weight management surgery available — the laparoscopic Duodenal Switch.
