Pharmacy Practice Residency Positions
Only graduates from ACPE accredited pharmacy programs may apply to the residency program. Foreign pharmacy graduates may apply to the residency program after successfully passing TOEFL and FPGEE, and if licensed to practice pharmacy in the United States.
The residency at Saint Mary's cannot be used to collect hours to sit for the (NAPLEX).
Two residents are accepted into the program yearly with a start date of July 1 with training concluding the following June.
Residents accepting this position agree to complete twelve months of residency training at Saint Mary's and must complete all the requirements for the program before the certificate of completion can be awarded.
The annual salary for this full time residency position is currently $40,000. Residents receive ten days paid time off for vacation/sick time. Residents receive an additional eight paid days and travel expenses to attend specified National and State Conferences: ASHP Mid-Year conference, Great Lakes Residency Conference, and the annual MSHP Residency Conference. Residents receive two more paid days for interviewing. Professional liability insurance will be provided under the hospital policy.
Residents are expected to abide by the same pharmacy and institutional policies as other Saint Mary's pharmacists. The position is contingent on successful completion of a background check, Michigan licensure during the first part of the residency, and physical assessment as required by Saint Mary's Health Care.
