Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY-1)

Residency Overview

The Pharmacy Practice Residency (PGY-1) at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s provides residents with a broad-based and customizable post-graduate clinical training experience. The required rotations, together with the large number of available elective rotations, including a Teaching and Learning Certificate Program and an elective rotation in Academia, allow residents to acquire experience and competence in a wide range of pharmacotherapeutic areas so as to produce excellent clinical pharmacy practitioners.

Completion of the Pharmacy Practice Residency at Mercy Health Saint Mary’s prepares pharmacists to provide well-rounded, direct patient care within a health system, to function as a clinical or adjunct faculty member, to pursue specialized training through the completion of a specialty (PGY-2) residency, and to be eligible for board certification as a pharmacotherapy specialist.
