Preparing for the future.

Today's pharmacist plays a more critical role in the medical system than ever before. New drugs are being introduced at an unprecedented rate. Reimbursement models are constantly evolving. And health care delivery patterns are changing to maximize efficiency and cost control.

The Pharmacy Practice Residency at Mercy Health Saint Mary's is designed to develop the knowledge, experience, creativity and leadership today's pharmacists need to cope with tomorrow's challenges. Residents will learn to:

  • Provide confident and compassionate direct patient care in a multidisciplinary setting.
  • Educate patients and health care providers to optimize patient care and drug therapy.
  • Demonstrate professionalism and maturity in all aspects of pharmacy care.

Residents will also benefit from being exposed to the unique brand of health care practiced at Mercy Health Saint Mary's. Here, we place equal emphasis on leading-edge practices and a compassionate, caring experience.

The Department of Pharmacy Services at Mercy Health Saint Mary's employs more than 100 pharmacists and technicians across six distinct practice settings:
