Applying to the Residency

Applicants must submit the following materials by January 11, 2013:

  1. Transcript from college of pharmacy

  2. Curriculum vitae

  3. Letter of intent

  4. Three letters of recommendation

Beginning with the 2013 interview cycle, Mercy Health Saint Mary's will accept all applications through the new Pharmacy Online Residency Application Service (PhORCAS). Further details are available at the PhORCAS section of the ASHP website. Please do not send application materials via mail.

The PhORCAS system provides a standard Resident Recommendation Form that is required as part of the application. This form needs to be completed and uploaded by those from whom a reference is required. In addition to the form, persons providing a recommendation for a candidate should upload a separate, personalized letter of recommendation into the PhORCAS system.

Candidates must participate in an onsite interview. Most interviews are scheduled in late January or early February. During the four-hour interview, the candidate will meet with the RPD and as many of those involved with the residency program as possible (e.g., director of pharmacy, current residents, and preceptors).

The Match

The Mercy Health Saint Mary's residency program participates in and follows all the rules for the National Matching Services (rules can be found by clicking here). After the completion of all onsite interviews, we will rank candidates and submit the rank order list to the Match before the deadline.
